SOCO was engaged as construction manager to oversee demolition and renovations for 35,000 sf of existing retail space on two levels to make way for the future Boscov’s expansion.
The project included the installation of interior foundations and structural steel to cast a new floor in place of a pre-existing balcony adding 5,000 sf to the 2nd floor retail area. Five massive skylights were removed and subsequent roof repairs were made to bring consistency to the newly created white box space. Existing MEP, fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems were separated from the mall services and tied into Boscov’s main system which required extensive life safety coordination.
The project was completed without interruption to the mall’s daily activities and delivered two weeks ahead of schedule.
