SOCO was responsible for the construction of this two-story property, five-acre development in the Bronx between the Major Deegan Expressway and Broadway at 238th Street. The project included the asbestos abatement and demolition of the existing buildings, former home to the Stella D’oro Biscuit Company. The project entailed the construction of a 162,252 sf structural steel frame building clad in masonry and set on a load bearing pile foundation. The façade included stucco and glass store fronts with separate canopies for each retail tenant. The site improvements included the creation of 500 parking spaces between street level and rooftop . Site lighting and a new storm water detention system were also part of the site scope.

SOCO worked closely with the owner, design team, MTA Railroad and adjacent property owners to deliver a state of the art retail property to the community. The completed project is anchored by big box retailer BJ’s Wholesale Club occupying approximately 100,000 sf and the balance being leased to a mix of national and regional tenants such as Petco, and Bank of America.
