SOCO Construction served as Construction Manager for J.C. Penney’s new store located at Gateway Plaza, Brooklyn, NY. This building’s foundation system utilized timber piles, concrete pile caps, grade beams, and a structural slab. The building envelope included concrete precast panels, brick wainscoting, composite metal panels and a glass curtain wall system. Because the project was built on a reclaimed landfill, the building also required an under slab methane evacuation system to insure noxious gases would not escape into the building.

The interior fit-out was also completed by SOCO in less than 5 months with the same base building team providing a seamless transition in service from start to finish.
