BEDMINSTER, N.J. (Newswire.com) – SOCO Construction Co., a Bedminster-based construction management company, donated a total of $45,000, with $15,000 each going to Bergen County’s United Way in New Jersey, JAR of Hope, and the Night Stalker Foundation. The funds were raised through the 2026 SOCO Construction Golf Classic, which brought participants together for a day of golf, food, and networking at the Metuchen Golf and Country Club in Edison, New Jersey.
Supporting Affordable Housing
For the fourth consecutive year, SOCO is supporting Bergen County’s United Way and its mission to construct affordable homes for families, seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities, alongside its partner, Madeline Corporation. “SOCO is proud to once again support Bergen County’s United Way and the meaningful work they do throughout our community,” said Leo Kushner, SOCO’s Chief Financial Officer. “Their commitment to creating safe, affordable housing and helping those who need it most is a mission we are happy to support year after year.”
JAR of Hope funds research to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a rare and fatal genetic disease that primarily affects boys and is characterized by progressive muscle degeneration. As the disease progresses, muscle weakness increasingly limits mobility and daily activities. “This cause is especially meaningful to me, as two young children in my hometown are affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy,” said Seth Levy, SOCO’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “SOCO is proud to support an organization founded by Jim Raffone, a father whose own child is affected by this disease and who is doing everything in his power to help defeat it.” According to JAR of Hope, the organization has raised more than $7 million, helped more than 25 families, and promoted awareness of Duchenne worldwide since its founding in 2013.
The Night Stalker Foundation is dedicated to supporting current and former soldiers and families of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), also known as Night Stalkers. The foundation provides scholarships, emergency financial assistance, family resiliency programs, and lifelong support for Gold Star families. “We recently had a Night Stalker who required a leg amputation,” said Brian Supko, Executive Director of the Night Stalker Foundation. “Not all his equipment and treatment were covered under the Military insurance programs. That is where we come in: to help cover what isn’t.” “The men and women of the Task Force 160th Night Stalkers provide the safety, security, and freedom that allow worthy groups such as JAR of Hope and United Way to exist and perform their functions,” said Joseph De Vita, SOCO’s Project Executive. In 2025 alone, its programs and services directly impacted more than 1,000 Night Stalker families.
Continued Community Support
Through its annual charitable golf outings, SOCO supports nonprofit organizations serving a range of needs. This year’s beneficiaries focus on affordable housing, Duchenne research, and support for military families.
