SOCO Construction managed the upgrade of all existing amenities at Liberty Towers in Jersey City, New Jersey. The residents of the 648 rental units now enjoy a brand new rooftop amenity level with a pool, Ipe sun deck, cabanas, fire pits, and barbecue stations. Interior renovations included a new screening room, party room, lounge, chef’s kitchen, game room, library, golf simulator, and fitness center. In addition, the front entrance and main drive received a new glass vestibule, plantings, stone portal façade, along with repaired and resurfaced concrete flatwork. These new finishes spill into the lobby with new stone flooring, wall finishes and ceilings. Each corridor within the two 37-story buildings were also upgraded with new carpet, wall coverings, and light fixtures. All work was completed while maintaining safe access for residents.
Energy upgrades included low-flow fixtures, energy efficient lighting and mechanical systems, and the sealing of existing duct risers. The project targeted LEED silver certification. In addition to providing Construction Management services, SOCO provided extensive Value Engineering input and design assistance to meet the project’s budget constraints.
