In a joint venture partnership with MCN Build, SOCO Construction was hired to manage the construction of the large-scale addition and modernization of a charter school in North Plainfield, New Jersey. The project is a two-story addition (plus basement) to an existing school, measuring approximately 35,500 square feet.
The project consists of a mix of academic and artistic programs. The project hosts a total of 21 classrooms, 2 science/lab rooms, a new art, music and drama room, a new cafeteria and a full-size indoor basketball court, which also serves for other school and community activities. The multipurpose room includes a large framed picture window overlooking Jackson Avenue, giving the structure a signature look while providing an abundance of natural light to account for the versatility of the school’s needs.
The mission of the College Achieve Central Charter School system is to prepare all of its students to excel and to move on and graduate from the top universities in the nation.
